The Chicago Cubs have reached an agreement on a one-year deal with reliever Michael Fulmer.

The right-hander is finalizing a one-year, $4 million contract.

Fulmer pitched for the Detroit Tigers and Minnesota Twins last season, going 5-6 with 3.39 ERA in a career-high 67 appearances. 

Fulmer said conversations with former Cubs relievers Andrew Chafin and Daniel Norris cemented his decision to join the team.

"It just kind of confirmed my beliefs of me wanting to be here," he said, "and ultimately, just glad it worked out."

Infielder Elvis Andrus and the Chicago White Sox are in agreement on a one-year, $3 million contract, pending a physical, sources familiar with the deal told ESPN on Sunday.

Andrus, 34, spent the final two months of the 2022 season with the White Sox, filling in for the injured Tim Anderson at shortstop. Andrus is expected to play second base with Chicago, sources said, after playing all 1,914 of his career games at shortstop.

The Philadelphia Phillies have agreed to a two-year contract with Seranthony Dominguez, avoiding arbitration in the process.

The deal includes a club option for the 2025 season. The reliever is guaranteed $7.25 million. He'll be paid $2.5 million in 2023, $4.25 million in 2024 and has a $500,00 buyout on an $8 million club option for the 2025 season. 

The San Diego Padres have reached an agreement on a deal with Michael Wacha, according to sources.

The deal is pending a physical and has not yet been confirmed by the club.

Exact terms of the contract were not immediately known, but a source said it could potentially reach as many as four years. 

Wacha, 31, is coming off a season in which he posted a 3.32 ERA in 23 starts for the Boston Red Sox. 

Jason Adams beat the Tampa Bay Rays in salary arbitration and will get $1.775 million instead of the team's offer of $1.55 million.

The reliever went 2-3 with a career-low 1.56 ERA and a career-best eight saves in 67 relief appearances last season, striking out 75 and walking 17 in 63 1/3 innings. 

The Los Angeles Dodgers and veteran outfielder David Peralta have agreed to terms on a one-year, $6.5 million contract, sources told ESPN on Friday. The deal, which is pending the completion of a physical examination, carries incentives that could increase the value to as much as $8 million.

Philadelphia Phillies reliever Jose Alvarado avoided arbitration Friday, agreeing to a one-year deal for $3.45 million.

He had filed for $3.7 million and the Phillies' $3.2 million.

The Houston Astros beat Kyle Tucker in arbitration, meaning the outfielder will make $5 million in 2023 rather than his request for $7.5 million.

The $2.5 million gap between Tucker and the Astros matched the largest among 33 players who exchanged proposed salaries with their club last month.

Tucker, 26, hit .257 with 30 home runs, a career-best 107 RBIs and stole 25 bases. He had a $764,200 salary last year and was eligible for arbitration for the first time.

Right-hander Yu Darvish and the San Diego Padres are in agreement on a six-year, $108 million contract extension, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan on Thursday.

The deal, which contains a full no-trade provision, starts this season and runs through 2028, when Darvish, 36, will be 42 years old.

The Toronto Blue Jays have avoided arbitration with Bo Bichette by agreeing to a three-year deal, according to reports.

Bichette, who had an arbitration hearing scheduled for later this week, is on track to be a free agent after the 2025 season.

The infielder was seeking $7.5 million this season, and the Blue Jays filed at $5 million.
