Michael Fulmer Reaches One-Year Deal With Cubs

The Chicago Cubs have reached an agreement on a one-year deal with reliever Michael Fulmer.

The right-hander is finalizing a one-year, $4 million contract.

Fulmer pitched for the Detroit Tigers and Minnesota Twins last season, going 5-6 with 3.39 ERA in a career-high 67 appearances. 

Fulmer said conversations with former Cubs relievers Andrew Chafin and Daniel Norris cemented his decision to join the team.

"It just kind of confirmed my beliefs of me wanting to be here," he said, "and ultimately, just glad it worked out."

White Sox, Elvis Andrus Agree To One-Year, $3M Deal

Infielder Elvis Andrus and the Chicago White Sox are in agreement on a one-year, $3 million contract, pending a physical, sources familiar with the deal told ESPN on Sunday.

Andrus, 34, spent the final two months of the 2022 season with the White Sox, filling in for the injured Tim Anderson at shortstop. Andrus is expected to play second base with Chicago, sources said, after playing all 1,914 of his career games at shortstop.

Phillies Extend Seranthony Dominguez

The Philadelphia Phillies have agreed to a two-year contract with Seranthony Dominguez, avoiding arbitration in the process.

The deal includes a club option for the 2025 season. The reliever is guaranteed $7.25 million. He'll be paid $2.5 million in 2023, $4.25 million in 2024 and has a $500,00 buyout on an $8 million club option for the 2025 season.

Michael Wacha Reaches Deal With Padres

The San Diego Padres have reached an agreement on a deal with Michael Wacha, according to sources.

The deal is pending a physical and has not yet been confirmed by the club.

Exact terms of the contract were not immediately known, but a source said it could potentially reach as many as four years. 

Wacha, 31, is coming off a season in which he posted a 3.32 ERA in 23 starts for the Boston Red Sox.
